This position is accountable for producing the following results:
The Chaplain provides spiritually based care to co-workers, customers, and communities respecting the diversity of those being served. Respond to individual and family needs, as well as work-life concerns such as job stress, coworker relations and career direction. Provide consultation to management about issues affecting employee and company well-being, including organizational change, ethical challenges, conflict resolution, team development and outplacement.
People will feel loved, understood, and supported with spiritual and practical resources to assist them in their service at First Rate.
STRATEGIC WORK
1. Provide advice in matters pertaining to religion, morals, and morale
2. Advocate for the free exercise of faith for all employees
3. Advocate for the principles of Business As Mission and the integration of faith at work
4. Oversee resources for education, counseling, and unique events.
5. Officiate at First Rate ceremonies or events when called upon.
6. Provide appropriate religious ministry to the variety of personnel in the First Rate family.
7. Oversee spiritual, humanitarian and community programs.
8. Encourage employees to participate in the volunteer organizations of their choice.
9. Serve as a resource to First Rate’s non-profit Partners.
10. Encourage First Rate Living based on the four core values of love, give, serve, enjoy.
11. Prayer begins each meeting.
12. Host and invite co-workers to a weekly prayer gathering.
TACTICAL WORK
· Plan/Organize/Participate in First Five days of prayer.
· Plan/Organize/Participate in 3 Homes of Hope trips.
o Trip chair or designated replacement
· Plan/Organize/Participate in 1 First Rate Living Weekend
· Plan/Organize/Participate 1 First Rate Living Luncheon.
· Plan/Organize/Participate 1 National Day of Prayer event.
· Prepare and deliver devotionals while attending these meetings/events:
o Quarterly board meetings
o Quarterly business meetings
o Every MD team meeting
o IMMERSE retreats
· Plan/organize 8 community outreach luncheons per year.
· Coordinate open and closing prayers by coworkers for company events.
· Send out pastoral cards for life events of coworkers and their families.
· Offer to meet with family during life events (hospitalizations, funerals, etc.)
· Meet with every USA coworker privately each year.
· Organize educational and religious meetings as needed.
· Plan and organize Co-worker team community service days 8 times per year.
Contributions management and distribution includes:
· Chair contributions committee
o One phone call a day to partner organization
o Archive all communication with charities in CRM
o Keep Contributions spreadsheet up to date
· Revenue and giving
o Send support requests to charities (listed in the last three years contributions spreadsheets) in July.
o Submit check requests of Employee Contributions and other Company-directed contributions
o Via NCF
o Via First Rate, Inc.
· Send year end contribution reminder to FTE co-workers in September of each year.
· Compile year-to-date contributions summary for quarterly board meetings.
· Serve on the board of an Arlington charity we partner with.
· Coordinate 75% of employees participating in at least 1 First Rate-sponsored event per year.
Attend 1 event per month in the Arlington community.

REQUIREMENTS (ex: expert level knowledge of adobe, excellent negotiating skills, 5 years’ supervisory experience, etc.)
Qualifications:
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field required.
2. Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited seminary or theological institution preferred.
3. Ordination, commissioning, or endorsement by a recognized faith organization preferred.
Experience:
4. Minimum of 5–7 years of professional pastoral, chaplaincy, or faith-based counseling experience, preferably in a corporate, nonprofit, military, or hospital setting.
5. Demonstrated ability to provide spiritual and emotional care to individuals of diverse faith backgrounds and belief systems.
6. Proven success in organizing and leading community service initiatives, volunteer programs, and charitable giving campaigns.
7. Experience planning and officiating events, ceremonies, devotionals, and educational sessions.
8. Skilled in confidential counseling, active listening, and crisis response.
9. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships at all organizational levels.
10. Experience developing or supporting morale, wellness, or values-based programs is highly desirable.

13. This position requires approximately 15% travel annually. Travel includes both domestic and international trips to participate in First Rate’s service initiatives, such as Homes of Hope builds, as well as attendance at community events, retreats, and outreach activities. Most trips are planned in advance and will vary in duration.
