OurCalling is a ministry specifically focused on the unsheltered homeless community. We operate an outreach center for the homeless community near downtown Dallas. We are passionate about loving and helping the unsheltered homeless transition to better lives. We are a faith-based ministry where every job is a ministry position. Each staff member should be able to clearly share the Gospel and communicate their own testimony. While everyone on the team wears multiple hats, our primary function is getting people off the street and helping them walk with Jesus. We want everything that we do to point to Jesus. We serve 200-400 guests daily. We are a “zero-barrier” facility that is welcoming and compassionate to all who enter.
Job Summary:
The Director of Programs (“Director”) is a key spiritual leader and shepherd within the OurCalling ministry. This role exists to guide, disciple, and equip the Programs Department so that Guests may encounter Jesus Christ and be lovingly supported in taking the next steps toward long-term life transformation. The Director provides hands-on support to Care Ministers, builds healthy and trusting relationships with Guests, and ensures that all Programs activities reflect OurCalling’s mission, values, and theological convictions.
This leader collaborates closely with Operations to implement ministry-wide strategies while fostering a culture of communication, accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight for Men’s and Women’s Care Ministers, Street Outreach, Placement Solutions, and other Program personnel
- Ensure staff operate in alignment with ministry values, spiritual purpose, and best practices for care and casework
- Cultivate a department-wide culture of unity, clarity, accountability, communication, and collaboration
- Maintain a strong leadership presence by attending team meetings, engaging with staff, and remaining available
- Lead the Programs Team strategically as they accomplish the mission of OurCalling through our 2 questions, “Will you trust the Lord?” and “Will you let us help you get off the streets?”
- Empower managers to lead effectively, uphold expectations, and ensure team accountability
- Maintain a personal caseload of Guests to stay connected to the daily realities of ministry work
- Ensure accurate reporting and monthly submission of KPIs, qualitative updates, and ministry outcomes
- Replicate the structure, rhythms, and communication patterns of the Leadership Team within all Programs teams and ensure managers do the same
- Lead the development of annual and quarterly team goals and KPIs
- Evaluate team performance monthly, addressing declines quickly through accountability and coaching
- Evaluate direct reports annually according to their job descriptions
- Conduct quarterly evaluations of what is working (best practices) and use staff to teach peers
- Manage and meet 1:1 with direct reports at least twice a month
- Attend direct report team meetings at least twice a month
- Facilitate weekly Program’s Department Meeting
- Manage Bible studies, recovery classes, and OurChurch services
- Maintain and continually update the department’s Playbooks and SOPs
- Evaluate all on-site partners and build new partnerships
- Lead the charge for our connection to the COC and integrating our teams within the Dallas Homeless response system
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree required; focus in social services, ministry, psychology, sociology, or related fields preferred
- Minimum 8 years’ experience serving vulnerable populations
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
- Minimum 3–5 years managing teams in ministry or service environments

The pay range for this role is: 80,000 - 95,000 USD per year(OurCalling - Cesar Chavez)
