Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Lead Worship Musician to inspire, guide, and support our worship team in creating an engaging, uplifting, and spiritually enriching worship experience. This role is essential in cultivating a vibrant worship atmosphere that encourages connection, reflection, and community through music.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate musical excellence, spiritual maturity, and strong leadership, with a heart fully committed to ministry. Through intentional preparation and Spirit-led execution, this individual will help ensure each worship service enhances the congregation’s spiritual journey and supports the overall vision of the church.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead rehearsals and coordinate weekly worship services, ensuring seamless musical flow and spiritual alignment.
- Select, arrange, and prepare music that aligns with sermon themes, worship objectives, and seasonal services.
- Mentor, train, and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists, fostering musical growth, confidence, and spiritual development.
- Collaborate closely with pastors and ministry leaders to plan worship elements that support preaching and church initiatives.
- Oversee the care, organization, and proper use of musical instruments, sound equipment, and worship resources.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages creativity, unity, accountability, and shared vision.
- Participate in special services, outreach efforts, and church events to extend worship beyond Sunday services and strengthen community engagement.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience leading worship teams in a church or similar ministry setting with energy, sensitivity, and excellence.
- Strong proficiency in leading worship through a primary instrument (keyboard and/or Hammond organ preferred); multi-instrumental ability is a plus.
- Confident vocal ability, including leading congregational singing, harmonizing, and blending with praise teams or choirs.
- Working knowledge of contemporary worship music, urban gospel styles, and traditional hymns; familiarity with worship production or theatrical elements is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate volunteers, manage team dynamics, and resolve challenges with grace.
- Strong organizational and planning skills for rehearsals, song preparation, scheduling, and equipment coordination.
- Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with church leadership, volunteers, and congregation members.
Pay: $21.76 - $26.21 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 4 per week
