Your Job:
The position will directs the services of the Pastoral Care Department in providing the highest quality spiritual care to patients, families, and staff of Methodist Health System. It will play a key role in developing an, inter-disciplinary approach to spiritual care, by overseeing policy structures, and strategies that aligned the MHS Pastoral Care Department with Methodist Health System's mission, vision and values and strategic Plan.
Your Job Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited school of theology with a Master of Divinity or equivalent. Level II ACPE distinction
- Ordained Clergy within an acceptable faith tradition. Board Certified Chaplain with an Association of Professional Chaplains organization.
- 5 Years management experience required.
- 5 - 6 Years of Clinical Pastoral Work, in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to work well with people of diverse spiritual or religious backgrounds. Ability to understand and react effectively to the age specific needs unique to assigned patients.
Your Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinated and develop budget with site managers of hospital specific Pastoral Care departments to accomplish operational and strategic objectives within budgetary guidelines
- Track Pastoral Services Budget for All hospital specific Pastoral Care departments and report to Vice President for assistance in ongoing financial controls and annual budgeting
- Serves on various hospital-wide committees and takes a leadership role in developing and/or evaluating hospital services, policies, or programs. Support an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care. Provide liaison to other departments such as social work, volunteers, etc. Provide orientation to pastoral care to other departments as invited.
- Maintain Pastoral and Prophetic presence (Through visibility, availability, dialogue, prayer, etc. providing pastoral Care to Patients and families and physicians and MHS Staff.
- Conduct yearly performance reviews as well as supervise the site mangers of the Clinical Pastoral Care departments of MRMC MMMC MDMC MCMC.
- Coordinate with the Manager of Clinical Pastoral Education to align Resident and Interns Chaplains service and education with the strategic plan and mission of the department and hospital.
- Collaborate with the site mangers of each Pastoral Care Department to coordinate volunteers from the religious community ensuring they are oriented to MHS policies and procedures.
- Facilitate special programs and projects appropriate to overall ministry and goals of MHS.
- Serve on Ethics Review Committee and Institutional Review Board as appointed
- Develop and maintain procedures to keep records of pastoral activity and develop and administer the department's plan for continuous quality improvement.
