Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Music Director to lead and develop the musical culture of our band. This individual will ensure musical excellence, disciple band members, and contribute to a healthy, Christ-centered culture both on and off the platform. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with strong musical and administrative skills, a heart for discipleship, and a desire to become an active member of our church community while helping people grow spiritually and musically.
Responsibilities
- Oversee band rehearsals
- Provide clear and consistent communication to the band regarding all worship-related matters and expectations
- Schedule, maintain, and manage up-to-date information on contract & volunteer instrumentalists
- Support worship team rehearsals in preparation for weekend and weekday services
- Oversee inventory and maintain the upkeep of all musical equipment & instruments
- Manage files for all Live Performance and Studio stem libraries (stored on external hard drives or cloud-based systems)
- Research new and creatively diverse music styles in line with Embassy’s worship environment and vision
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to write, arrange, and/or produce original music for special projects
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings when requested
Requirements
- Confidence and professionalism in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across musicians, staff, and congregants
- A commitment to nurturing the spiritual health and development of the band
- The ability to build, develop, and maintain healthy team culture
- Excellence as a professional musician
- Proficiency in at least one instrument, with the ability to lead or accompany a variety of musical genres and styles
- Proficiency in creating and managing live performance and studio stems using industry-standard digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Ableton Live, and Logic Pro

- Must have a strong relationship with God as evidenced by a healthy devotional and moral lifestyle
- Must have a strong family life, as evidenced by the quality of the relationship with their spouse and children
- Must be open to membership at Embassy City
- Must embrace the Embassy City Vision
- Must agree with and support Embassy City Church Statement of Faith
- Must have a proven track record of leadership and character
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
