- Sundays: 8:55 AM & 10:55 AM (not required to attend)
- Wednesdays: 7:15 PM (not required to attend)
- Weekday hours may be scheduled based on pastoral meetings, church activities, and administrative needs. (most of these hours hours will be remote)
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant to the Pastor Intern will provide administrative and organizational support to pastoral leadership while gaining firsthand experience in church administration, pastoral operations, and ministry leadership.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, professional, discreet, and interested in learning how effective administrative support helps pastors and ministry leaders focus on vision, people, and ministry. The intern will assist with scheduling, correspondence, meeting preparation, ministry follow-up, and other administrative responsibilities while working closely with pastoral leadership.
Because this position supports pastoral leadership directly, the successful candidate must demonstrate maturity, sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Pastor and pastoral leadership as assigned.
- Assist with managing calendars, appointments, meetings, and ministry schedules.
- Coordinate and confirm meetings with church members, ministry leaders, community partners, and other guests.
- Prepare meeting agendas, notes, documents, and other materials as needed.
- Track assignments, commitments, deadlines, and follow-up items resulting from pastoral meetings.
- Assist with email correspondence, telephone calls, and other communications as directed.
- Help organize pastoral files, records, documents, and ministry resources.
- Assist with preparing materials for leadership meetings, services, ministry events, and special initiatives.
- Coordinate with ministry leaders and staff regarding information, scheduling, and pastoral requests.
- Assist with hospitality and logistical arrangements for pastoral guests, meetings, and special events.
- Help maintain organized systems for pastoral administration and ministry follow-up.
- Protect confidential and sensitive information concerning church members, staff, leadership, and ministry matters.
- Assist with special projects and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.

- Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn church management, scheduling, and communication platforms.
- Willingness to receive direction, coaching, and feedback.
- Previous administrative, executive assistant, church office, or ministry experience is helpful but not required.

Internship Information
Schedule
Interns should expect to serve during:
- Scheduled weekday administrative hours as determined by ministry needs.
- Occasional special events, leadership meetings, pastoral appointments, and ministry trainings as scheduled.
About the Internship
This internship is designed to equip emerging ministry leaders and ministry professionals through hands-on experience, intentional mentorship, and spiritual development. Interns will serve alongside experienced ministry leaders while developing practical skills in a healthy, growing church environment.
The Administrative Assistant Intern will receive unique exposure to the administrative and organizational responsibilities that support pastoral leadership, providing valuable experience for individuals interested in church administration, executive support, ministry operations, or future ministry leadership.
Successful interns may be considered for future paid staff positions as opportunities become available.
