Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry
Status: Full-Time, Salaried
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
Reports To: Senior Pastor
Purpose
The Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry will champion the spiritual formation of students in grades 6–12 through biblical teaching, discipleship, meaningful relationships, and partnership with parents. This role integrates pastoral leadership, administration, communication, volunteer development, and community engagement.
Pastoral & Spiritual Leadership
• Maintain a growing relationship with Jesus through prayer, Scripture, worship, and personal accountability.
• Teach the Word of God with clarity, accuracy, and passion.
• Model Christian character and integrity.
• Build meaningful relationships with students through presence, discipleship, mentoring, and care.
• Partner with parents, equipping them as primary disciplers.
• Lead worship or develop leaders to serve in worship ministry as gifted.
Program Oversight
• Lead and organize weekly youth services and small groups.
• Plan and execute camps, retreats, outreach, and fellowship events.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming youth environment.
• Develop a ministry calendar aligned with the church schedule.
Volunteer Development
• Recruit, train, and pastor youth volunteers.
• Ensure background checks and safety policy compliance.
• Provide ongoing training and leadership development.
• Promote teamwork and ministry excellence.
Communication & Administration
• Maintain communication with parents and students through email, messaging, and social media.
• Oversee curriculum and discipleship materials.
• Manage the youth ministry budget.
• Collaborate with staff and ministry leaders.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all youth protection policies, including two-deep leadership.
• Ensure safe check-in/out procedures.
• Maintain awareness of student needs and pastoral care concerns.
Community Engagement
• Build relationships with local schools and community partners.
• Participate in district or regional youth ministry gatherings as appropriate.
• Represent Grace Community Church with integrity.
General Church Responsibilities
• Participate in weekend worship services and major events.
• Serve in other ministry areas as requested.
• Be a team player who is actively looking to help other members of the ministry team.
• Support the mission and values of Grace Community Church.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated calling to youth ministry.
• Ability to teach Scripture and disciple students.
• Spiritual, emotional, and relational maturity.
• College degree in ministry, education, or related field preferred.
• Foursquare credentialing or willingness to pursue it.
• Competency with media, AV, and digital communication tools.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
