Job title: Service Accompanist
Hours: Part-Time (5 hours per week)
Description/Duties:
- plays piano and/or organ during the church’s 10:00am worship service.
- plans the services in collaboration with the pastor, chooses the weekly prelude, postlude, offertory, the musical liturgical responses, and plays during weekly communion.
- accompanies our soloist.
Availability:
- 50 Sunday services plus special (evening) services include: Advent/Hanging of the Greens, Christmas Eve, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday (58 times per year).
- Rehearsal and preparations begin at 9:00am every Sunday morning.
Ideal candidate:
We are looking for a trained musician who loves worship and has experience playing both piano and organ in mainline churches. Organ training/education preferred. Our ideal candidate is a joyful, humble Christian musician who knows and appreciates sacred choral music, traditional hymns, spirituals, and global music. We are looking for someone who encourages others to share their musical gifts and knows how to implement creative ideas.

Negotiable based on experience, skills, and training
About our church:
In 2023 we purchased a brand new Allen GX-235 organ and a used Steinway Model B piano. We are a small, vibrant, progressive and inclusive church with a relaxed yet reverent worship style. Liturgy and music are very important to our vision: “to experience God’s presence and grace in Spirit-filled, Reformed worship.” We use the acclaimed “Glory to God: the Presbyterian Hymnal” (2013) and utilize a variety of music styles, instruments, and voices.
