The Classroom Aide assists with implementing instruction under the guidance of the teacher. The Aide will provide student services as guided by the classroom teacher. The aide will continue their professional growth and personal skills as needed to fulfill their job responsibilities. This position reports to the president and has decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
Planning and Implementing Instruction Among Colleagues
- Work closely with the teacher to implement the instructional program's goals.
- Assist in the supervision of students in the classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc., as assigned.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Principal or assigned teachers.
Provide Student Services:
- Work individually and in small groups, and/or remediation in reading and math
- Help to supervise students as they work independently in the classroom.
- Review student papers and give assessment information to teachers.
- Assist in the supervision of students in the classroom, cafeteria, halls, etc., as assigned.

Physical Requirements Specific to the Job:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands and arms to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
