JOB SUMMARY:

Our vision as Chase Oaks Worship is to know God’s transforming presence and to make his presence known. Frist, we strive to lead ourselves well and grow in our own faith. Through this process we live out our purpose with what we say and what we do. It’s every part of our lives, every day. When we get on a stage with an instrument or a band, it’s the culmination and expression of our daily lives lived in worship.

At the end of this residency, you’ll be able to perform the essential job responsibilities listed below. This will give you a base of skills required to lead worship at a church.

This position is 1 year in length, from August 1 – July 31, working 20 hours/week.

Weekly Hours Breakdown:

8 hours – Leading worship

2 hours – Personal Development

4 hours – Skillset Goal Development

2 hours – Unique Development Opportunities

4 hours – Meetings/Administrative Tasks (team meetings, creative meetings, etc.)

Details

Leading Worship

Lead worship during most of the weekends throughout the year.
Be immersed in our worship culture through interaction with our teams.

Personal Development

Weekly/bi-weekly one on one’s with Worship Pastor.
First 90 days will move through our onboarding worship curriculum. From this curriculum, we will establish 90-day goals to challenge you to grow you in specific areas (See skillset goals and unique development opportunities).

Technology/Administration

Planning Center Online
Pro Presenter
Tracks
Building a setlist

Musical Leadership

Lead band rehearsal
Build charts
Lead vocal rehearsal

Congregational Leadership

Leading a weekend service
Leading worship at an outside event
Verbal transitions/public prayer

Team Leadership

Lead band rehearsal and vision for the service program
Auditioning new volunteers

JOB PROFILE:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Confident with public speaking and verbal communication to groups via microphone
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with congregants, volunteers, and other worship team musicians
Openness to performing worship music in multiple languages (including Mandarin and Spanish); fluency not required

Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries.
High attention to customer service.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email.
Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
Experienced with data entry.
Familiar with databases.
