Are you passionate about providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children and families in need? Vogel is seeking a compassionate Aftercare Support Staff member to join our Family Support and Mental Health Services team. In this role, you will assist in supervising children and siblings enrolled in aftercare programming, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
As a key team member, you’ll collaborate with the Administrative Assistant/Aftercare Coordinator to plan engaging activities, communicate effectively with families and staff, and create positive experiences for children impacted by trauma. This is a part-time, non-exempt position, with an hourly compensation of $15.00.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
- Assist in the preparation and planning of aftercare program services and activities.
- Supervise children and siblings in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Communicate effectively with directors, teachers, parents, and team members.
- Provide verbal and written input to support aftercare service needs.
- Address and report aftercare issues or incidents promptly.
- Foster positive relationships with families, staff, and the community.
- Display trauma-informed care and support for children and families.
- Uphold excellent customer service and professionalism at all times.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
- High School Diploma required; advanced education preferred.
- Understanding of the homeless population and the impact of trauma on children and families.
- Basic knowledge of child development, health, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook).
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to program needs.
