Objective:
Coordinate and oversee planning and be involved in the execution of exciting and dynamic age-appropriate worship experience every weekend (including worship and music, video, teaching, games, and any other creative elements).
Essential Job Functions:
- Communicate consistently with parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities as well as providing the tools they need for spiritual leadership. Effectively help build a strong partnership between church and family
- Coordinate and oversee administering the comprehensive standards, curricula, and programming elements from Central Kids Min, and ensure its successful implementation and alignment with the overall vision of the church
- Encourage, Coach, teach and provide insightful and critical feedback to Children’s Team members to improve reaching more children and families.
- Supervise and be a servant leader in Children’s Programming, working alongside staff and volunteers in programming and events.
- Lead, plan, and run summer camp for the Roanoke campus and be willing to pitch in for the other campus’ weeks of camp
- Attend ministerial staff meetings weekly, lead Children’s Ministry Team meetings, and other staff meetings as needed.
- Lead children’s staff in planning dynamic and age-appropriate events. Including budgeting and forecasting events. Lead the team in evaluating events after the fact. Ensure improvements to be made are documented for planning purposes.
- Oversee and work with responsible team members prioritizing spending within the Children’s budget.
- Supervise team members. This includes providing ongoing feedback to team members and documenting as needed.
- Approve timecards and PTO when applicable.
- Uphold Compass Church’s mission, core values and 12 staff commandments
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Regular Office hours Monday - Thursday.
- Be present at all weekend services.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or working towards a bachelor's degree
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Children's Ministry; preferably in a variety of ages, infant through 5th grade.
- Previous supervision experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Effective communication skills to communicate in writing and verbally with a variety of audiences.
- Ability to lead staff in planning dynamic and age-appropriate events. Including budgeting and forecasting events
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle the physical demands of this position which include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, and must be capable of lifting to 50 pounds on occasion.
