Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Day Camp Counselors to join our team and provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children during summer camp sessions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong leadership skills, and experience in educational or recreational settings. Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions among children
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that foster childhood development
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies
- Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges as needed
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that aligns with camp values and Christian counseling principles (if applicable)
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders regarding camper progress and concerns
Skills
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or early childhood education
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and special education needs
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to employment
- Ability to lead sports coaching, theater activities, or other recreational programs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Experience in childcare, camp supervision, or teaching is highly desirable
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in fostering a positive camp experience for children of all backgrounds
