Full-time Family Ministries Worship Leader
This worship leader is responsible training students to lead others in worship. The worship leader will plan and execute all worship environments for both youth, confirmation, and kids ministry, including special events.
Planning will be accomplished in coordination with the HPUMC Youth, Kids, and Confirmation Staff. This Worship Leader will develop both middle and high school students to plan and lead worship independently. This position will also collaborate with other staff on general discipleship and church-wide programs.
The Family Ministries Worship Leader must thrive in a fast-paced, highly relational, creative environment with tight deadlines and busy schedules. Due to the nature of youth ministry, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and weeklong out-of-town events are the expected. Office hours are determined with these factors in mind.

Campus: Mockingbird Campus - Dallas, TX
Working Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Anticipated Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.; Sundays from 8:00-12:00 p.m. A thirty-minute unpaid break minimum is required Monday through Thursday. During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job and special events. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as Worship Leader for 7th-12th grade students and their families
- Lead worship on all Youth Mission Trips
- Lead worship for Children’s Ministry Vacation Bible School
- Organize students to lead worship in Kids and Confirmation venues
- Prepare and empower students leading worship.
- Coordinate contractors as needed.
- Work with the Youth Ministry to develop a strategy for worship and musician discipleship.
- Oversee teardown and set up of youth, confirmation, and kids worship spaces.
- Teach and train middle school and high school students during weekly rehearsals.
- Coordinate and organize Planning Center, Music Stand, Multitracks, and others as needed.
- Work with the HPUMC production team to express needs, maintain equipment, and partner together on large worship events such as Youth or Kids Ash Wednesday.

Meetings
Attend all-staff meetings
- Attend monthly Family Ministries meeting
- Attend weekly HPUMC Youth department meetings
- Meet with Pastor to Youth & Their Families bi-weekly
Education & Desired Skills:
1. Undergraduate degree preferred
2. 3+ years in Youth worship ministry preferred
3. Experience in large church ministry
4. Ability to build, lead, and empower student worship volunteer teams 5. Growing knowledge of audio/visual tech equipment and skills
6. Demonstrates enthusiasm and positive attitude
7. High degree of initiative and accountability
8. Strong organizational skills

Physical Demands:

Other Qualifications: Must be a Christian committed to living a life that reflects the Gospel, who feels called to lead and train others on worship ministry, and is comfortable working in a United Methodist Church environment.
