The Powerhouse Teacher is responsible for supervising and engaging students in a safe and supportive before and/or afterschool program environment. Planning and implementing age-appropriate faith-based curriculum through daily devotionals, object lessons, STEM-based learning activities, homework assistance, and fostering social and emotional well-being. The teacher will communicate effectively with parents as needed and will collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive and enriching experience for all stakeholders. All Powerhouse Teachers report to the campus Site Director and/or supervisor. This position is part-time Monday – Friday ranging between 15 – 30 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification is required.
- Previous experience in a state licensed childcare center or church setting is strongly recommended.
- Willing to obtain 15 hours of Early Childhood Education within the first 6 months of position.
- Able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must be able to lift and carry a child if a situation presents itself.
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday AM 5:45am-7:30am
Monday - Thursday PM 3:00pm-6:30pm
Friday 6:45am-1:00pm or 12:00pm-6:00pm
