Job Summary
The Mentoring Coordinator is responsible for leading the daily operations of an after-school program that helps students build life skills, develop resilience, and reach their full potential through SEL-based activities, academic support, enrichment, and recreation. This role blends direct work with children with administrative and leadership responsibilities, including staff supervision, compliance, and program documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and oversee after-school programming that integrates SEL, academics, STEM, enrichment, and recreation.
- Supervise, coach, and support program assistants/instructors to ensure high-quality, engaging activities.
- Model positive relationships, behavior management, and mentoring for students.
- Collect, track, and input student data (attendance, outcomes, progress reports).
- Ensure compliance with district and program standards, safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, families, and community partners.
- Facilitate group discussions, team-building games, and student-led projects.
- Provide training and support for staff on SEL strategies, enrichment activities, and program expectations.
- Manage site-level documentation, reporting, and supply needs.
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth in educational, after-school, or community settings.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of SEL practices and youth development principles preferred.
- Administrative or supervisory experience a plus.
- Passion for helping students grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
