We are looking for teachers to work with our infants or one-year-old rooms, we have morning and afternoon positions available. We treat all our staff like professionals, we give access to training and tools to help develop wonderful teachers. Position Overview
All employees at the Weekday Program Ministry are expected to provide a Christian environment that is safe, warm and nurturing. This environment should enhance self-concepts, encourage independence, and respect individuality. Employees are expected to create a classroom experience that will help the child to grow socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. The NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct should be always followed. As a representative of FUMC Weekday Program, employees are expected to adhere to the philosophies and policies established by the Weekday Program Board, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Texas Rising Star, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children

Supervision
- Active Supervision: ensure constant supervision in the classroom and on the playground
- Compliant Ratios: maintain child-to-staff ratios within regulatory limits
- Name-to-Face Transitions: Document in BrightWheel each child by name to face
- Daily Sign-Ins/Out/Moving: All children are signed in/out by parents
Relationships
- Child Relationships: Build rapport and engage children with children in activities
- Parent Communication: Maintain regular and effective communication with parents, encouraging their participation
- Parent Education: Collaborate with parents to enhance understanding of child growth and development
- Shared Spaces: Cheerfully share the room and spaces with other Weekday Program teachers
- Team Collaboration: Participate in a cooperative team approach with fellow teachers in the same age level in regard to the planning for the school year. This includes all aspects of curriculum planning and the sharing of resources and space
Child Guidance
- Conscious Discipline: Continuously learn and integrate 1-2 new skills/strategies annually
- Positive Communication: use positive statements in interactions with per CCL guidelines
- Promote Self-Growth: foster self-esteem, self-control, and self-direction
- Individual Understanding: show awareness of individual needs and development
Communication
- Conduct Supervision: seek guidance on curriculum, discipline; confer on child concerns
- Parent Communication: communicate daily, create partnerships, discuss child concerns, assist with service referrals
- Incident Reporting: complete reports as needed; submit to the office and provide copy for the parent
- Child Count: communicate child count, maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios
Curriculum
- Environment: maintain a neat, clean, developmentally appropriate classroom
- Material Responsibility: care for materials as they are shared by the whole program, and ensuring the material are age appropriate
- Lesson Planning: include detailed schedules, objectives, diverse activities, and be turned in bi-weekly
- Timely Documentation: submit lesson plans, assessments, progress reports, and student portfolios
- Preparedness: create substitute folders and uphold classroom standards
- Curriculum Integration: incorporate HighScope framework domains; early-literacy, early-mathematics, science, creative expression, sensory development, music & movement, social studies and spiritual development
Important Qualifications and Skills we are looking for
1. A caring Christian person with knowledge of early childhood developmental, spiritual, physical, social and emotional needs and competence in working with young children.
2. Be a high school graduate or its equivalent and preferably have at least two years experience working with young children.
3. Provide the Weekday Program with a record of training and experience and three references.
4. Be mentally, physically, and emotionally able to assume assigned duties, including being able to lift at least 30 pounds and participate in 30 minutes of vigorous activity with children.
5. Show competency, good judgment, and self-control in working with children and co-workers.
6. Relate to the children, parents or guardians, and other staff members with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.
7. Not have been indicted or been the subject of criminal complaint, nor shall be subject of deferred adjudication.
8. Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
9. Complete all of the required training and documentation each year as requested.
Accountability
The Director, Assistant Director and HR Coordinator of the Weekday Program supervise the Weekday Program Teacher and Staff.
