Position Purpose
The Contemporary Worship and Media Director exists to bring people into the presence of God through excellent and engaging music, worship environments, and media. The Contemporary Worship and Media Director also exists as a bridge-builder to support the relationship ministry of the UTA Wesley, the connection between the UTA Wesley and FUMC Arlington, and furthering the goal of helping young people on a life-long path of discipleship.
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Lead, schedule, and organize the contemporary worship band for Sunday morning worship.
· Create a culture of celebration in the contemporary worshipping community that engages the congregation to fully participate in music and worship.
· Create experiences and moments within worship that help people encounter God.
· Communicate regularly with other staff involved in worship to ensure cohesion and relevance within the larger church vision.
· Serve as a pastoral presence to the contemporary worship band.
· Develop opportunities for gifted and invested church members to grow in their musical gifts on occasion, or as part of the worship team.
· Lead, schedule, and organize the worship experience for the UTA Wesley on Tuesday nights.
· Help interested, invested, and gifted students to develop their musical ability and leadership.
· Communicate regularly with the UTA Wesley Director to ensure cohesion with larger ministry goals.
· Assist with strategic planning and goal setting with the Executive Director/Pastor.
· Produce and organize slides and media needed for all worship experiences including, but not limited to: FUMC Traditional and Contemporary Worship, FUMC Student Worship, UTA Tuesday Worship, Funerals, and Special Worship Services.
· Work with the Director of Communications to acquire graphics needed and cohesion across departments.
· Alongside the Director of Communications, produce videos needed for worship, such as worship announcements.
· Manage the UTA Wesley newsletter and social media output, including calendaring content, organizing audiences, and promoting events to maximize engagement.
· Coordinate the update of the UTA Wesley website and social media.
· Serve as a primary relationship-builder with existing and prospective participants of the UTA Wesley.
· Maintain a regular presence on the UTA campus.
· Build meaningful relationships with staff and members of FUMC Arlington through in person and digital ways.
· Represent FUMC and/or UTA Wesley at appropriate community events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
