Position Overview
Montessori Guide will plan and implement Montessori lessons, manage the class well, ensure safety and security of all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to and cooperate in the day-to-day operations of the Academy, ensuring alignment with Montessori philosophy and biblical values.
- Support staff supervision, training, scheduling, and mentoring.
- Assist with family outreach, and communication to foster strong community partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) childcare licensing standards.
- Participate in lesson planning, teach in the classroom, document progress and work with parents.
- Monitor child development and address behavior or learning concerns with administrative staff and families.
- Manage safety protocols and facility readiness.
Qualifications & Credentials
As per Texas Administrative Code §746.1015, the Assistant Director must meet minimum director qualifications, which include one of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least 12 college credit hours in child development and six college credit hours in business management, or
- An associate’s degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, plus experience, or
- A child development associate (CDA) credential and relevant experience.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a licensed childcare or educational setting.
- Montessori training or experience (required).
- A passion for Christian education and ministry to families.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and administrative skills.
- Background clearance and ongoing professional development as required by Texas Childcare Licensing.

Rooted in biblical values and the Montessori method, our mission is to develop the whole child—spiritually, academically, and socially—in a nurturing environment. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Director to support our Head of School and lead our Grand Prairie campus with integrity and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of School in overseeing daily school operations.
- Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing and Texas Minimum Standards.
- Supervise and support teaching staff through training, mentoring, and evaluation.
- Lead enrollment processes, campus tours, and parent communication.
- Promote a Christ-centered culture in all school activities and engagements.
- Conduct classroom observations and curriculum support.
- Manage safety procedures and health regulations.
- Serve as acting director when the Head of School is absent.
Qualifications
Required (per Texas Child Care Licensing for Director Designee):
- Bachelor's degree with at least 12 college credit hours in child development and 6 credit hours in business management OR
- Associate’s degree in child development, early childhood education, or related field with experience OR
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with leadership experience.
Additional Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a licensed childcare or school setting.
- Montessori experience or certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
- Able to pass FBI background check and meet all DFPS requirements.
- Strong Christian faith and commitment to biblical values.
