Job Summary
The Campus Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the congregation, guiding and nurturing the church community through teaching, preaching, and pastoral care. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong leadership skills who can effectively communicate and educate members on spiritual matters. The Senior Pastor will also be responsible for crisis management and providing bereavement support to those in need.
Responsibilities
- Lead worship services, delivering engaging sermons that inspire and educate the congregation.
- Provide pastoral care, including crisis intervention and hospice care for individuals and families during difficult times.
- Offer bereavement support to grieving families, helping them navigate their loss with compassion and understanding.
- Communicate effectively with church members, fostering an open environment for discussion and spiritual growth.
- Manage conflicts within the congregation with sensitivity and professionalism, promoting reconciliation and unity.
- Oversee church programs and activities, ensuring they align with the mission and vision of the church.
- Mentor church staff and volunteers, providing guidance in their personal and spiritual development.
- Write newsletters, articles, or other communications to keep the congregation informed about church activities and initiatives.
Qualifications
- A degree in Theology or a related field is preferred; ordination as a minister is required.
- Proven leadership experience within a church or community setting.
- Strong crisis management skills with the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Experience in conflict management, demonstrating an ability to mediate disputes effectively.
- Compassionate approach to hospice care and bereavement support, showing empathy towards individuals in distress.
- A commitment to ongoing personal spiritual growth and professional development within ministry practices.
