Musical Experience:
- Lead music during weekly worship services, including Sundays and midweek services,
- Accompany praise teams, choirs, and soloists with excellence and sensitivity.
- Flow with pastors during preaching moments (e.g., modulations, preacher chords, altar calls).
- Attend and lead rehearsals (1–2 times weekly).
- Help arrange and prepare songs for services and special events.
- Maintain spiritual and musical excellence as a ministry leader.
Leadership & Ministry Experience:
- Proficient in playing both keyboard and/or Hammond organ in a church setting
- Ability to play by ear and read chord charts or sheet music.
- Skilled in urban gospel, contemporary Christian, traditional hymns, and spontaneous worship.
- Experience working with praise teams or choirs in a fast-paced, Spirit-led environment.
- Excellent timing, transitions, and knowledge of music flow in Black church worship culture.
- Teachable, dependable, and ministry-minded with a heart for serving God through the gift of music.
Technical & Organizational Skills:
- Ability to train or mentor younger musicians to equip and nurture the next generation of musicians.
- Basic music production or arranging skills, with the ability to adapt songs for worship settings.
- Familiarity with sound systems or digital worship tools (e.g., Ableton, MainStage, etc.).
- Strong time management and rehearsal planning skills to maximize rehearsal time.
- Capable of building and scheduling a music team for regular services and rehearsals.
Education & Training:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience leading the congregation in authentic spirit-led worship.
- Formal music education is not required, but basic music ability and experience in a church setting is essential.
- Comfortable with gospel, contemporary Christian, and urban worship music styles.
