FUMC Coppell Student Ministry Job Description
First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Coppell is seeking a full-time, salaried director/pastor of Student Ministry who feels called to shape a ministry where students are equipped to love, grow, serve, and lead.
FUMC Coppell demonstrates deep commitment to student ministries through meaningful investment—competitive compensation, an Associate Youth Director, strong music ministry partnership, and administrative support—allowing the Youth Pastor to focus on what matters most: forming students into faithful, compassionate, mission-driven leaders.
Our congregation is uniquely positioned as both a town church rooted in Coppell and a regional church drawing families from across North Texas. This creates a dynamic environment where students bring diverse experiences and a shared passion for meaningful faith.
First Coppell Student Ministry is a place where a wide range of students find belonging — athletes, musicians, artists, theater kids, scholars, gamers, and students still discovering their passions. We are looking for a leader who is comfortable holding space for questions while helping students discover the depth and beauty of life with Christ.
Our dedicated student ministry space, constructed in 2014, provides a welcoming and well-equipped home for discipleship and community. A robust Student Council and Parent Advisory team work alongside staff to cultivate leadership among students and their families. Youth participate regularly in both our modern and traditional worship services, reflecting our belief that students should be fully integrated into the life and worship of the church.
Mission is part of the DNA of FUMC Coppell. Our student ministry serves the world in tangible ways—from packing meals each semester on a Sunday morning to traveling domestically and internationally on mission trips, including our upcoming Spring Break 2027 trip to Costa Rica.
The Director of Student Ministry will join a supportive and collaborative leadership team. The supervising pastor is committed to walking alongside staff in encouragement, discernment, and creative exploration of new approaches to ministry. The Director will also partner closely with an Associate Director of Student Ministry who brings strong experience in student leadership and worship and who leads the Student Worship Team. Together, this team offers more than fifteen years of combined ministry experience and a shared passion for helping students grow in faith.
Beyond the student ministry team, the Director will join a church staff that values being Spirit-led, collaborative, adaptive, supportive, inquisitive, transparent, and accountable to God and to one another.
FUMC Coppell is a unique place where a gifted leader can dream boldly, lead creatively, and invest deeply in the lives of students. With strong congregational support, dedicated volunteers, and a collaborative staff team, this is a ministry environment ready for thoughtful leadership and fresh vision. If you are passionate about helping students encounter God, explore their faith, and grow into leaders who serve the church and the world, we encourage you to apply and explore how God may be calling you to serve here.
