Job Qualifications
Serves as the primary ACPE Certified Educator for the entity and for the students who participate in the site's CPE Programs; develops the curriculum and necessary resources to provide and excellent learning environment; and manages the administrative functions, quality initiatives and budget for the department.
Works collaboratively with the CPE Registrar in student recruiting, financial administration of CPE programs, reporting to ACPE and program management; provides guidance for the Staff Chaplains as they coach/mentor the CPE students in their clinical assignments; ensures students meet their financial and attendance commitments to the CPE program and their THR entity.
Designated to sign-off on all medical chart entries by students in order to maintain professionally written Spiritual Assessments, Pastoral Interventions and that contribute to patient care plans.
Responsible for directing and maintaining all aspects pertaining to the entity's (and component sites) ACPE accreditation and remaining in good standing with ACPE.
Responsible for managing and good stewardship of entity CPE budget/cost center.
Maintains all requirements for Certification as an ACPE Educator, a Board Certified Chaplain (within 3 years of hire) and good standing in faith group.
Education
Master's Degree Masters of Divinity (or equivalent degree) from a CHEA accredited theological school Required
Experience
5 years as an ACPE-certified Educator and professional Chaplain Required
Must be board-certified through APC or NACC within 3 years of hire Required
Licenses and Certifications
Board Certified Chaplain APC or NACC. Ordination and endorsement by religious judicatory required with in 3 Years Required

Other Certified Educator ACPE - Clinical Pastoral Education Upon Hire Required
Skills
Demonstrates ability to integrate theological, ethical and Psychological resources into compassionate pastoral care as evidenced by excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
Demonstrates excellence as Educator and mentor with well-developed learning and educational theories, an integrated sense of how groups form and live out their lives together, a strong understanding of God, people, life and a good grasp of systems and the place of pastoral care within those systems.
Ability to relate to people of all faiths and cultures and to offer appropriate religious/spiritual rituals as requested. Is also able to assess when to refer to an outside clergy to properly meet a specific need.
Ability to work with people in times of crisis and bereavement, offering compassionate care in such a way that it allows and invites others to do the same. Also able to debrief with staff after critical incidents, with an understanding of cumulative stress, burn-out and compassion fatigue.
Adheres to all HIPAA regulations as well as confidentiality rules in order to teach students the professional importance of compliance standards and uses all tool available to practice and teach issues of safety and standards of care.
Competency in electronic communication tool, including specifically Outlook email and calendar scheduling, EPIC CareConnect electronic medical records, etc.
