ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
Foundational to the Restore Hope organization is a commitment to the engagement of the local church in Christian mission. It is our belief that Jesus instituted the church as the primary organism through which his gospel would be proclaimed, and the Kingdom of God would be established on earth. Our confidence in the local church and her potential are rooted in Matthew 16:18-19 and Matthew 18:18-19 as well as the fuller message of the Biblical text.
Reporting directly to the Chief of Church Engagement, the Church Engagement Associate (CEA) role is designed to enhance the work of Restore Hope’s Church Engagement division. The purpose of the division is to assist churches in realizing and being mobilized toward the actualization of their missional callings through the following activities:
· Development/Utilization of Missional Formation Resources for Churches
· Promoting Church Engagement in Strategic Christian Missions
· Mobilizing Churches for Christian Mission
· Church Relations
· Church Networking
· Church Recruitment for Organizational Support Raising
· Oversight of Church-based Workers (Independent Contractors/Employees) by Restore Hope
· Crisis/Contingency Management for Workers
· Member Care for International and Local Cross-Cultural Workers
The Church Engagement Associate role is designed to work in tandem with the Chief of Church Engagement in the implementation of Church Engagement strategies, goals, and objectives. The CEA will directly and indirectly serve churches engaged by Restore Hope.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Mature disciple of Jesus Christ
· Interest/Experience in Cross-Cultural Mission
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work successfully in a virtual team environment
- Public Relations Skill: Comfortable in public leadership roles with a willingness to engage and lead as required in meetings with staff, partners, and churches
- Strong technical skills with advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive), Google applications and general database management abilities
- Media development experience to include the creation of social media posts, building webinar strategies, and training staff and church leaders in the use of technologies and best practices.
- Analytical Thinker able to review existing systems, processes, and pathways with proven ability to move toward improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Representing Restore Hope and the Chief of Church Engagement through in-person meetings with church leaders and partners as requested by the Chief of Church Engagement
- Works with team to develop resources for churches, including editing and writing resource materials as requested
- Trains and serves with staff and crisis/contingency team in crisis/contingency management for workers
- Ensures that all staff and overseas workers are trained on and updated on trends in crisis/contingency management
- Assists with learning the best practices of secure communication technologies and training staff and international workers in those practices
- Media development to include creation of social media content, building/implementing webinar strategies, and training staff/church leaders in use and best practice of technologies
- Budgeting, expense receipts, and reports for this position
- Event planning for Church Engagement purposes
- Assistance with fundraisers, conferences, and promotional events as needed
- Content creation for gatherings
- Assists churches with formation and sending processes as requested by Chief of Church Engagement
- Assists with fundraising training for overseas candidates and workers as requested
- General administrative duties as assigned
- Participates in domestic and international travel/work as requested
