Praise And Worship Leader
Summary
The Praise Team Leader plans music, coordinates musicians, and leads music in worship services for Faithbridge Presbyterian Church. It should be noted that the Praise Team primarily leads contemporary Christian music with the occasional incorporation of traditional hymns or other musical styles as appropriate to worship.
Responsibilities
- Working with the pastor to plan all music for worship as to enhance the preaching and scriptural themes of worship in line with the church’s vision.
- Encouraging and working with congregants who wish to use their gifts as part of the church’s praise team on either an ongoing or occasional basis.
- Preparing the musicians and the congregation for each week’s music by arranging for appropriate rehearsal time (as determined by the Praise Team Leader, pastor, and the musicians), producing appropriate rehearse-at-home materials for the musicians, and producing playlists for the congregation to listen to in advance of worship services.
- Communicating each week’s musical selections to the Administrative Assistant for inclusion in the weekly bulletin and worship slide show, as well as ensuring the Administrative Assistant has all the lyrics needed for the slide show.
- Securing musicians (internal and/or external to the congregation) to lead worship when the Praise Team Leader is not available.
- Other duties as may be deemed necessary.

Relationships
The Praise Team Leader works with and reports to the Pastor (head of staff) and Personnel Elder. This person maintains working relationships with volunteer musicians from within the congregation and those outside the congregation. Communication with the church Administrative Assistant is a regular part of the position duties.
Classification
- This is a contract position which is paid on a weekly basis. A Form 1099 will be issued each year for tax reporting purposes. Pay is to be negotiated upon the beginning of employment.
- Annual reviews will be performed by the Pastor and Personnel Elder.
- The Praise Team Leader is expected to be in Sunday worship, as well as up to four special mid-week services throughout the year (which may include, but are not limited to Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve).
- The Praise Team Leader will be allowed four Sundays off per year with pay. This paid time off is not accruable and should be coordinated with the Pastor, giving as much advance notice as possible.
- The Praise Team Leader, although not a member of the church, should expect to be cared for by the congregation, the Pastor, and its officers as a child of God.
