Job Overview
His Kids Christian Learning Center, a ministry of First Baptist Church Weatherford, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will help create a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where young children are known, loved, and guided in their early learning and spiritual formation.
You will support the development of the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and spiritually—while partnering with families to lay a strong foundation of faith and learning. This is a position that offers the opportunity to make a lasting eternal impact in the lives of children and their families.
Duties
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans rooted in early childhood best practices and a Christ-centered worldview
- Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that reflects the love of Jesus
- Support children’s developmental milestones through intentional teaching, play-based learning, and age-appropriate guidance
- Incorporate foundational skills in literacy, math, motor development, and social-emotional learning
- Foster positive behavior through loving, consistent classroom management strategies
- Observe, document, and assess child development and progress in accordance with licensing and reporting requirements
- Communicate regularly and compassionately with parents and caregivers, partnering with them in their child’s growth and development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom while following all health and safety protocols
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and leaders to support the mission and vision of His Kids Christian Learning Center
- Model Christlike character in words, actions, and relationships with children, families, and staff, both in and out of the center.
Requirements
- Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or early education setting preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles
- Ability to plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
- Experience with classroom management and positive behavior guidance strategies
- A heart for ministry and a desire to help children grow in both learning and faith
- Strong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with mandated reporting requirements
- Commitment to child safety, well-being, and best practices in early childhood care
- Early Childhood Education certification or relevant training preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Alignment with the mission and vision of First Baptist Church Weatherford
