Ministerial Character
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities.
Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.
Responsibilities- Teach Middle School and High School Spanish courses in alignment with school curriculum and instructional expectations
- Create an engaging, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity, confidence, and student participation
- Foster a classroom culture rooted in respect, encouragement, accountability, and relationship-building
- Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learners and learning styles
- Maintain timely grading, lesson planning, attendance, and classroom communication
- Communicate proactively and professionally with parents, students, and colleagues
- Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administration as a supportive and solutions-oriented team member
- Contribute positively to the broader life and culture of the school community
- Demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to navigate the evolving needs and rhythms of school life with grace and initiative
- Support the mission and Catholic identity of the school

Requirements
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Spanish or Education preferred
- Teaching certification preferred
- Experience teaching middle school and/or high school students preferred
- Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required
