Responsibility Overview
The Worship Pastor is responsible for building, leading, and developing a thriving, Spirit-led worship culture across all ministries of the church. This role oversees the full worship experience, from team leadership to service execution, while raising up leaders and developing future ministers through intentional internships.
Worship Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and oversee all worship teams across main services, youth, young adults, and kids ministries
- Set the vision, culture, and standard for worship that aligns with the overall direction of the church
- Plan and execute worship services, including song selection, flow, and transitions
- Ensure excellence in all aspects of the worship experience, including sound, lighting, and stage environment
- Be present and engaged at services and key events to lead or support as needed
Team Development & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists
- Build and lead team leaders within each ministry area
- Create a culture of growth, accountability, and spiritual maturity within the team
- Schedule teams and ensure proper coverage for all services and events
Service & Production Oversight
- Oversee the execution of sound, lighting, and live and online production in partnership with AVL teams
- Maintain a high standard of excellence in audio quality and overall experience
- Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure services are aligned and impactful
Internship Development
- Build and lead a structured worship internship program focused on leadership, skill development, and ministry training
- Invest directly in interns through coaching, hands-on opportunities, and regular feedback
- Create pathways for interns to grow into key volunteer or staff roles
- Ensure internships are meaningful, challenging, and aligned with the vision of developing leaders, not just filling gaps
Collaboration & Culture Building
- Work closely with pastors and staff to align worship with sermon themes and church direction
- Contribute to the overall health, unity, and culture of the church staff and volunteer teams
- Help cultivate an atmosphere where people can encounter God and engage fully in worship
