Youth Pastor – Job Description

Position Summary
The Youth Pastor will lead the vision, growth, and discipleship of Naples Church’s Middle and High School ministries. This role exists to help students develop a genuine, lasting relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments that are spiritually rich, relationally safe, and culturally relevant. The Youth Pastor will build and lead teams, invest in students and families, and work collaboratively with church leadership to raise up the next generation of faith-filled leaders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Ministry Leadership
- Plan and lead weekly student services, small groups, and discipleship environments.
- Develop and deliver biblically sound and culturally engaging messages that connect with 6th–12th grade students.
- Set direction for overall ministry strategy, outreach efforts, and community-building activities.
2. Relational Discipleship & Student Growth
- Build relationships with students inside and outside church walls—being present at schools, games, and community events.
- Establish a culture where students feel known, loved, and encouraged to follow Jesus.
- Create clear pathways for students to grow spiritually, serve others, and take ownership of their faith.
3. Volunteer Team Development
- Recruit, train, and shepherd adult and student leaders who model Christlike character and servant leadership.
- Oversee team schedules, expectations, and ongoing development.
- Cultivate a team culture built on encouragement, accountability, and shared mission.
4. Parent Engagement & Communication
- Partner with parents as the primary spiritual influencers in their students’ lives.
- Provide resources, consistent communication, and intentional opportunities to build connection between home and church.
- Maintain regular updates via email, text, and social platforms.
5. Event & Program Oversight
- Lead the planning and execution of camps, retreats, outreach events, and special experiences that help students connect with Jesus and each other.
- Coordinate logistics, promotion, volunteer needs, and follow-up strategies for all major events.
- Manage ministry budget with excellence and stewardship.
6. Collaborative & Administrative Duties
- Attend weekly staff meetings and collaborate with other ministries to ensure alignment and support across generations.
- Maintain student records, curriculum, and planning documents.
- Uphold all safety, background check, and reporting protocols for volunteers and students.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Strong, growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with Naples Church’s mission and values.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in student ministry, with ability to lead and teach effectively.
- Solid theological foundation and commitment to biblical truth.
- Creative thinker with a strong sense of vision and strategy.
- High level of organization, communication, and follow-through.
- Ability to inspire, relate to, and connect with both students and adults.
- Proficiency in ministry tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Planning Center, Slack) and social media platforms.
- Must be flexible, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.
