The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Worship Pastor at The Rock Church.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Worship Ministry, Music, or a related field is preferred.
3 or more years of relevant experience in a church or ministry setting
Experience in leading others into spontaneous praise and spirit inspired worship that become the diving board for the gifts of the Holy Spirit
Have experienced the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Experience with Planning Center, ProPresenter, multitracks and Facebook Live Online and familiarity with other worship technologies and software for recording

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency as a vocalist and musician, with expertise in guitar and/or keyboard.
Experienced at teaching others to play instruments
Lead worship both musically and verbally through transitions, use of scripture, and other moments that help the congregation engage more deeply in worship
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Strong interpersonal, relational, and communication skills
Lead and develop worship and live stream production volunteers
Must be able to plan meaningful and formative worship services that become the diving board for the gifts of the Holy Spirit
Ability to lead, give direction to, and develop a worship band
Should work well with the Senior Pastor, staff, and volunteers
Understands how to spot and utilize the gifts of this body of believers in worship
Needs to be able to create a positive, encouraging team environment
Should take initiative to improve, develop, and grow the worship ministry creating a generational pipeline of giant killers with the anointing of David

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications

Exemplifies the character traits of a pastor as seen in 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–16, including the truth that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman
Must be a team player
Approaches all things with humility and a teachable spirit
Self-starter who is strongly motivated and is passionate about the mission
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
Exhibits a spirit of flexibility with time off and office hours
Should be attentive to, baptized in, and led by, the Holy Spirit
Able to see the potential in the next generation, and create opportunities for the church of tomorrow to become the church of today
